Partitioning schemes

DOS, OS/2, and Windows

With Disk Operating System, Operating System/2, and Microsoft Windows, the normal partitioning method is to create a single active primary partition on the hard disk, the C: drive, where the OS, utilities, applications and page/swap file all exist. However, many user prefer to create multiple hard disk partitions so that the multi operating system can be installed, operating system can be stored separately and the multiple partitions allows users to recover from viruses, Spam or any other damaged and corrupt .
